'No monkey pox on Curaçao yet'

Main news | By Correspondent May 26, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) has announced that no cases of monkeypox have been registered in Curaçao so far. In recent weeks, several infections have been reported in Europe with the monkeypox virus, which originally comes from Africa.

The ministry warns of the symptoms of monkeypox: fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes and fatigue. After a few days, there will also be a rash on the skin, usually starting on the face and later spreading to the rest of the body. The rash then changes from a spot to a blister.

GMN is closely monitoring the development of monkeypox and is collaborating with local and international authorities.
