OM dismisses case Neysa Isenia

Main news | By Correspondent October 21, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecution Service in Aruba refrains from further prosecution in the case that Neysa Isenia has brought against the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten. Isenia filed a case with the bank and Director Leila Matroos-Lasten for damaging her name.

After Steven Martina stepped down as Minister of Economic Development last year, Isenia came into the picture for that position for the MAN party. In the end she was not appointed. Later it turned out that Matroos-Lasten had sent information about Isenia to Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha.

According to Isenia, the Central Bank should never have sent that information unsolicited. However, the Public Prosecution Service in Aruba decided on Tuesday that the case will not be brought to court.
