WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecution Service (OM) finds that the legal basis for the "thorough inspection" of the Marnix College of 7 September last year is lacking. Three police officers involved will therefore be presented to the court, the Public Prosecution Service reports.
The National Criminal Investigation Department Curaçao has conducted an extensive investigation into the case. Three other people involved were also identified as suspects within the investigation. The investigation has not shown that they have committed criminal acts, so they will not be prosecuted.
Parents and students involved were informed by telephone and in writing about the results of the investigation. The suspects, the school board and KPC have also been informed.
The officers involved came to the school in September to check for weapons and drugs. They did this in collaboration with customs and was requested by the school itself. During the check, the officers asked minors to undress completely and verbally assaulted some students. The officers have been at home since the incident in September.
The hearing date is not yet known.
