WILLEMSTAD - The PAR faction in parliament has filed a complaint against Member of Parliament for the opposition party Korsou di Nos Tur (KdNT) Amparo dos Santos. The complaint about Dos Santos's behavior has been filed with the President of Parliament Ana Maria Pauletta. During a virtual meeting last Friday, Dos Santos insulted Pauletta several times. He called her a pig and said to him she is "mièrdè" (shit). According to Dos Santos, he was wrongly treated by the President when she refused to let him speak.
Despite repeated warnings, Dos Santos continued to swear. Pauletta then cut him off.
In the following week he was very friendly to the President of Parliament. But according to the PAR faction, it is not the first time that Dos Santos has behaved inappropriately. According to PAR members, Dos Santos creates an atmosphere of intimidation and hostility in parliament. They call on the President of Parliament "to make use of all available instruments and means to ensure order and security during parliament meetings and to banish verbal abuse and a hostile atmosphere in the workplace."
