WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao parliament yesterday approved the financial statements of the Country of Curaçao for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Now it is up to Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha to submit the financial statementes according to the rules. That has not happened since 2010. But Gijsbertha has indicated that he wants to work on doing so in the coming months.
Over the past period, the Financial Supervision Council has repeatedly insisted that the financial statements must be approved.
In his first response, Gijsbertha said, relieved and happy that the financial statements have been approved.
