Earlier, the General Audit Chamber of Curaçao indicated that the sale of the properties of Curaçao did not proceed in accordance with laws and regulations. The sale took place in 2015 when Marvelyne Wiels was Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao in the Netherlands.
Yesterday, the two coalition parties MAN and PAR indicated that the illegal sale should have consequences.
Member of Parliament for the MAN Giselle Mc William called Marvelyne Wiels during the parliamentary meeting a "sun queen" who paid little attention to legislation. Member of Parliament for the PAR Gisette Seferina stated that the people responsible for the sale "acted as if it were their own shop, instead of property of the country of Curaçao."
