WILLEMSTAD - The government discussed the Ennia file with representatives of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) on Tuesday. The central bank has updated the cabinet on the developments surrounding the largest insurance company in Curaçao.
The steps that are being taken to collect the claim of 1 billion guilders were also discussed. Last year, the judge held the former directors of the insurer liable for mismanagement. The owner Hushang Ansary has emptied the company.
Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas, Minister of Finance Javier Silvania, Minister of Social Development, Labor and Welfare Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia and Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje were present at the meeting.
CBCS was represented by President Richard Doornbosch, lawyer Theo Caris, financial and economic director José Jardim and Elisabeth Grimm. They were assisted by lawyer Sabine Altena of OX & Wolf.
