Main news | By Correspondent September 30, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The corona app in Curaçao is currently under development. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas announced this on Thursday during a press conference. In addition, Pisas again emphasized the importance of the corona measures.

The measures in the entertainment sector will be analyzed by the government on Tuesday. Then there is also talk of a corona app. The prime minister gives several examples of countries where the corona pass is already in use.

Lesley Fer, head of the disaster relief organization, indicates that the app is already under development. “We first have to take a number of steps before we can actually use such an instrument.”

According to the prime minister, the government will not oblige anyone to be vaccinated, but it must be taken into account that measures will be taken in the context of being vaccinated or not. “At the moment, our behavior is not the right behavior with regard to the measures,” said Pisas. “Everything will be done to keep Curaçao open. The economic importance is too great.”
