SAN JOSE, WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Gilmar 'Pik' Pisas met with Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles on Sunday. The government announced this on Wednesday.
Pisas and Robles talked about how the countries can work together and what they can do for each other. The Curaçao Prime Minister has made it clear that there is a treaty between Costa Rica and the Netherlands that allows for cooperation in various areas, including customs.

In addition, Pisas explained to Robles how drug smuggling is tackled in Curaçao with the help of the Netherlands and the United States of America. He explained that drones and scanners are used, but that there is also financial aid from the Netherlands.
Robles has indicated that he will send a letter to King Willem-Alexander and Prime Minister Mark Rutte to request this help. He also asked to sign a cooperation agreement between Curaçao and Costa Rica as soon as possible.
