Political parties congratulate new State Secretary

WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas, Coalition Party PNP and the opposition party PAR wish the brand-new State Secretary of Kingdom Relations Alexandra van Huffelen good luck with her new task.

The Curaçao Prime Minister spoke on Monday for the first time with Van Huffelen. During this contact he expressed his wish for a good working relationship.

Both ministers gave their position on the current situation around the pandemic. Pisas said, among other things, to be satisfied with the growth of tourism in recent months, despite the COVID-19 situation.

The vaccination process and the booster shot were also discussed and the role in this of the Netherlands. Pisas also expressed its appreciation for the personnel support that the Netherlands supplies to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC).

Pisas and Van Huffelen also exchanged information about their careers so that they got to know each other better. In the coming weeks they will talk in details about ongoing projects in the context of the agreements made between Curaçao and the Netherlands.

PNP party leader Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia emphasized in a press release that the party stands for a fruitful partnership between the countries in the Kingdom. This level of government should contribute to the well-being of the entire kingdom.

 

The PAR faction in parliament welcomes the number of female ministers and state secretaries in the Rutte IV cabinet. The opposition party also wishes the newly appointed government all the best. “That we can work together based on cooperation and mutual respect in the coming years. Where we focus on what we have in common and there is an eye for the differences,” says the party.
