WILLEMSTAD - The Outgoing Prime Minister of Curaçao Eugene Rhuggenaath just announced several relaxations to the COVID-19 measures on the island. The Premier started with the curfew which will be from 1 am until 4:30 am starting this Wednesday, June 2.
From then on, businesses (restaurants, etc) are allowed to stay open until midnight according to their economic permit. Bingos and raffles can also be organized again.
Restaurants are allowed 50 percent of the capacity, but there is no limit to the number of people sitting at a table.
Groups of 25 people are also allowed to gather at home and in public spaces also on the beach. Parties and loud music are still not allowed. Only background music.
The Premier also announced that the number of people on leisure boats are also at 50 percent of the capacity.
Rhuggenaath thanked everyone for their efforts to help bring down the number of COVID-19 infections and indicated that the government is discussing more relaxations. These will be announced soon.
