Main news | By Correspondent March 8, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao does not need to worry or make any preparations at this point regarding the war in Ukraine. That is what Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas said on the basis of various meetings he had with authorities and individuals last week.

The government is closely following developments and will soon share more information about the sanctions recently taken against Russia and why Curaçao is automatically part of them. In addition, the economic effects of the war on Curaçao are examined.

The Prime Minister has had meetings with Defense, the Royal Navy, the Curaçao Security Service, Foreign Relations Bureau, the police, Interpol, Ministry of Economic Development, Communications Department and with various advisers.
