Procedure Attestation de Vita changed

Main news | By Correspondent October 4, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - As of November 1, recipients of the General Old Age Insurance (AOV) no longer have to submit an Attestation de Vita (AdV) twice a year to the authorities from which they receive an AOV. The only condition is that the person must be resident on Bonaire, Saba, Sint Eustatius, Aruba, Curaçao or Sint Maarten.

From now on, the authorities that pay out the AOV will use the data from the local population register. There is a burden on the retiree. It is important that the data is correctly registered in the system of the population office of the island. Address and marital status are the most urgent.

For pensioners who live in the Netherlands and receive an AOV from one of the islands, they still have to show up twice a year. During the usual period, they must submit an AdV to the authorities from which they receive an AOV. Retirees who live on one of the islands, but who partly receive AOV from the Netherlands, must also submit their AdV to the authority in the Netherlands.
