WILLEMSTAD - The number of COVID-19 infections in Curaçao rose explosively on Wednesday. For the first time, more than a thousand positive tests were reported in one day. The government will hold a press conference on Thursday at 11:30 am about the record number of infections.
Three new COVID-19 patients were admitted to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) yesterday. There are now 31 people in hospital, eight of whom are in intensive care.
3,668 people were tested for the virus. 1,056 positive tests were reported. Fifty infections came from abroad. Only 91 persons were declared COVID free. The number of active cases thus rises to 5,722.
