WILLEMSTAD - The Red Cross Curaçao has started a fundraising campaign for Haiti. The island was hit by a massive earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale on Saturday.
The death toll has now risen to more than 1,400 and at least 7,000 people were injured. This number could increase, many areas are difficult to reach due to the devastation of the earthquake.
The Red Cross Curaçao has therefore started an action to raise money for Haiti. The donations can be deposited into the local bank account of Krus Kòrá Kòrsou MCB #2004.
Because the current situation regarding corona makes it difficult to send goods to the island, the Red Cross has opted for this form of support.
