WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao refinery will be open before the end of the year. Patrick Newton, director of Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK) stated this on Sunday evening to the media. Consultations are currently underway with Luis Giusti Lopez's company Socap. According to Newton, the negotiations are going well.
The judge in Curaçao ruled last week that the new operator of the refinery must adhere to the standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO). According to Newton, that is not a problem for Socap. The parties hope to finalize the lease in September and open before the end of 2022.
