WILLEMSTAD - Registration for the 8th edition of the largest volunteer action on Curaçao, CURA DOET, has officially opened. The organization announced this yesterday. Since its launch in 2014, community centers, schools, sports clubs and childcare centers have come to CURA DOET every year. They then receive a helping hand from thousands of volunteers for two days. CURA DOET will take place on 12 and 13 March 2021. The organization is already calling it a very crucial edition due to the corona crisis.
"The crisis has made us realize that social organizations need us more than ever! 2020 is a tough year for everyone, but for the social organizations that count so hard on the support of volunteers and companies, it turns out to be many times harder than ever, "the organization states. The theme of 2021 is therefore: "For each other!" In a press release, the organization states that the driving force behind CURA DOET is the team of Curaçao Cares. This consists of project managers and is supported by regional coordinators.
Social organizations and charities can now register their job on the website www.curadoet.com or by contacting Curaçao Cares via curadoet@curacaocares.org. You can register a job until January 16, 2021. To help a foundation or association to carry out a job, the Oranje Fonds makes a contribution of up to NAF 1,100 available, for example for material or transport. These requests can be made via the website. Organizations can also download the toolkit with the general terms and conditions there. Due to the new situation regarding COVID-19, there are new rules, such as a maximum number of volunteers per project.
