THE HAGUE - The vast majority of the Dutch House of Representatives does not feel the need for a round table discussion with aid organizations that are concerned with the situation of Venezuelan refugees/migrants in Curaçao and the role that the Netherlands can play in this.
The proposal for this by MP Marieke Koekoek of the Volt party only received the support of the BIJ1 faction. The other 18 factions did not respond, so the request was rejected. Koekkoek would have liked to hear from organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Defense Curaçao.
