WILLEMSTAD - His Majesty the King has this year awarded 32 Curaçao citizens a Royal decoration for their many years of exceptional services to the Curaçao community. Merits in areas such as health care, arts and culture, the Communion, sports, and youth work. Merits that are indispensable to the Curaçao community and have proven themselves once again during the Covid pandemic.

Following the measures announced by the government in the context of the fight against Covid-19, the official ceremony in which the Governor of Curaçao on April 26 on behalf of His Majesty the King presents the Royal decorations to the recipients will also not take place this year. This will be postponed until further notice. On April 25, the Governor informed all recipients by telephone of their honorable award.
This year there will also be no celebration of King's Day. The Governor will give a speech on national television on King's Day. The speech will be broadcast at noon.
