Sandals cannot fill 400 vacancies

Main news | By Correspondent February 7, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The luxury Sandals Royal Resort has difficulty finding staff. The resort opens its doors on Santa Barbara on April 14. For this Sandals seek more than 400 employees.

Last year the resort held a successful job market at the WTC. However, Sandals now says cannot get in touch with various job seekers who have applied then.

Both Sandals and Minister of Labor, Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia, would prefer to go to local employees. The minister has therefore offered her help. Last Friday she sat together with the management of Sandals to reach a plan of approach.

The Jamaican chain focuses primarily on the American market. It has been very successful on this market. The most luxurious suites have been fully booked until 2023. Sandals has also become a strategic partner of the Curaçao government. The aim is to increase the number of air connections from North America.

This coming Thursday, the resort will hold a webinar for the Canadian market. This is done in collaboration with the Curaçao Tourist Board and American Airlines. The webinar is led by Lorna Richards from Unique Vacations Canada. Persons who want to work at Sandals can send an e-mail to recruitscw@grp.sandals.com Furthermore, people who have responded to a vacancy in the past are asked to call phone numbers +59996980078 or +59996252951.
