WILLEMSTAD - Finance Minister Javier Silvania has changed his statements about the daughter of his predecessor, Kenneth Gijsbertha. He reports this on his Facebook page.

Silvania criticized the tax administration software developed by Bearingpoint several times in November. According to him, the ICT company would have charged more than 20 million guilders for the software and services. According to him, Vanessa Gijsbertha was one of those responsible. He announced an investigation into this.

In the Facebook post, Silvania says that his lawyers have done detailed investigation and have looked at the legal aspects and how the contact between the government and Bearingpoint came about. “It has become clear that Gijsbertha's involvement in the project was less than it appeared and what I was told by the Ministry of Finance,” said Silvania.

“In any case, Gijsbertha was not responsible for Bearingpoint's product, but she was part of a steering committee that made certain decisions about the project,” says Silvania. According to him, there were certain errors in the contract with Bearingpoint. The steering group has investigated this.
