SOAW Implements Temporary Changes for Welfare Applications Due to Technical Issues

Main news | By Correspondent January 20, 2026

WILLEMSTAD — The Ministry of Social Development, Labour and Welfare (SOAW) has announced temporary changes to the application process for welfare assistance following technical issues affecting online submissions.

According to the ministry, the disruptions are linked to an ongoing upgrade of digital services at Kas di Bario. The upgrade aims to expand digital access to a wider range of SOAW products and services, making public assistance more accessible and user-friendly. The improved system is expected to become operational on March 1, 2026.

As a result of the current technical work, it is temporarily not possible to submit welfare applications online. To ensure continuity of service, SOAW has arranged for applications to be submitted in person at Kas di Bario district offices.

Applicants may submit their requests in person from Monday, January 19, 2026, through February 28, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

The ministry has apologized for the inconvenience and advises the public to stay informed through SOAW’s official communication channels, including the government website and social media platforms. SOAW will announce when the upgraded digital services and new online products become available.
