WILLEMSTAD - The multidisciplinary team (MEO) that carries out checks at companies will take more action against violations of the corona rules. This was announced by Ronny Cornelis of the MEO team.
Especially the rules about facemasks and the closing time are more strictly checked. Serving staff without facemasks will be removed immediately. Restaurants that stay open longer will be closed for two days.
The multidisciplinary team will also check more often this holiday month whether the catering establishments are adhering to the measures. The government expects the number of corona infections to rise this month. According to Cornelis, catering license holders must provide a safe environment.
Yesterday, the team visited fifteen entertainment venues. Fourteen of them adhered to the rules. Ya Mei Restaurant at the Sta. Rosaweg had to close its doors for violating the opening hours. The business often flouted the rules. The restaurant had already received two warnings, so the multidisciplinary team decided to close the business for two days.
