WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao is introducing stricter measures for Dutch travelers. The government announced on Thursday that the Netherlands is again on the list of countries with the highest risk level.

Visitors from the Netherlands must present a negative PCR test on arrival, which must not be older than 48 hours. Travelers must also have an antigen test three days after arrival, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.

When filling in the Passenger Locator Card (PLC), an appointment can be made immediately for the antigen test at one of the locations on the island.

On Thursday, RIVM reported the highest number of corona infections since the start of the pandemic in the Netherlands. In 24 hours, 16,364 people tested positive for the virus. On Friday evening, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Health Minister Hugo de Jonge will give a press conference. According to Dutch media, a lockdown of three weeks will be announced.
