WILLEMSTAD - Fuel prices on Curaçao will drop significantly in the coming month. From Tuesday 30 August drivers pay 2.81 guilders for a liter of gasoline at the gas station .
Recently, fuel prices have soared to record highs. In August, the rates remained virtually the same. The Minister of Economic Development (MEO) announced during a press conference on Thursday that prices would fall significantly.
Next month drivers will pay 15 cents less for a liter of gasoline. Diesel becomes 22 cents cheaper. A liter of diesel will cost 2.40 guilders from Tuesday.
Prices for electricity and water are rising slightly. As of September 1, consumers pay 78 cents for a KiloWatt of electricity, two cents more than the rate in August. From next week, water will cost 9.65 guilders per cubic meter of water.
