WILLEMSTAD - The telecom company that the utility company Aqualectra wants to set up should be called 'Aquatel'. Aqualectra director Darrick Jonis announced this to the media. At the moment, the utility company is still in the process of setting up the company.
Like TeraMobil, Aqualectra received a telecom concession in May, but a number of conditions must first be met in order to be allowed to start. Jonis indicates that this is currently being worked on and that the hope is to complete the process of changing the statutes in September.
In addition, a telecom company must be established. Internally, the name 'Aquatel' is already used, and the company is expected to be operational within a year to a year and a half.
