WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Restaurant Association (CRA) welcomes the easing of the corona measures. But hastily to say that they hope that the easing will soon be further expanded.

"The extension of opening hours will give most restaurants some financial breath," Egon Sybrandy, CRA's Business Director said.

Sybrandy says she will continue to strive for the reopening of the indoor restaurants, as they will suffer greatly from the measures. At the government’s press conference on Monday, it was made clear that restaurants which are indoors are not yet allowed to open.

CRA says it is in talks with the government about opening indoor restaurants. "We are now discussing a protocol about this. And we hope to get another hour extra soon," said Sybrandy.

"Although we are happy that we are going from 8 pm to 10 pm, we have always argued that 10 pm closure for a restaurant is too early, because you can no longer sell the coffee and the liqueur, in other words an important part of the turnover Sybrandy said.
