The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints supports Curaçao’s maternity clinic with donation

WILLEMSTAD - In a heartwarming gesture of community support, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made a meaningful donation to Fundashon Duna Lus (formerly Kraamkliniek), Curaçao’s maternity clinic. The Church provided a state-of-the-art security system and fencing surrounding the clinic, enhancing the safety and security of the facility. The donation was marked by a special gathering that included Curaçao’s Minister of Health, Javier Silvania.

Minister Silvania praised the Church for its generosity and highlighted the vital role of the maternity clinic in the community. During his address, Silvania also shared his vision of moving the clinic closer to the main hospital, improving access to essential health services. In the meantime, he pledged ongoing support for the clinic as it continues to operate in its current location.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a strong presence in Curaçao, with a local congregation known as a branch. This branch is part of the ABC District, which includes congregations from Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. The Church’s humanitarian outreach extends across the globe, with dedicated missionaries working to improve the lives of people in need, including right here in Curaçao. 

Antonio Perez Feliz, President of the ABC District, was present at the event, along with Juan Stella, the Branch President in Curaçao. The humanitarian missionaries Elder and Sister Sellers, along with other missionaries serving on the island, also participated. The Church representatives expressed their ongoing commitment to supporting the maternity clinic and the wider Curaçao community. 

Through this donation, the Church hopes to contribute to a brighter future for the families and newborns in Curaçao. The collaboration between the Church and Fundashon Duna Lus reflects a shared commitment to health, safety, and community care, making a positive impact on the lives of many.
