"The government has lost the war on COVID-19"

WILLEMSTAD - Member of Parliament for the opposition party Korsou di Nos Tur (KdNT), the businessman Amparo dos Santos said today at the meeting of parliament that the Rhuggenaath government has lost the war on COVID-19. According to him, the situation was under control all the time. "But because you wanted to serve all kinds of interests instead of looking at the health of the people, things got completely out of hand," said the representative of the opposition party.

Dos Santos referred in his contribution to the debate to the many messages that epidemiologist Izzy Gerstenbluth receives on social media. Gerstenbluth is overwhelmed by popular criticism because Rhuggenaath has put pressure on the epidemiologist, says Dos Santos.

Many people in Curaçao believe that the government should have closed the borders and that the economic interest has been put above the importance of public health. As a result, according to him, there is now an enormous increase in the number of COVID-19 infections on Curacao.
