Thursday Deadline for Party Registration Ahead of Elections

WILLEMSTAD As Curaçao approaches the March 21, 2025, elections, several political parties have unveiled their candidate lists. The official deadline for submitting these lists to the Curaçao Electoral Council (KSE) is Thursday, January 23. So far, parties such as MDDK, PAR, UP, PNP, MFK, and MKP have disclosed their candidates. 

Movimentu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK) is led by Gilmar Pisas, accompanied by prominent members like Javier Silvania and Charles Cooper. At Movementu Kousa Promé (MKP), Giselle Rosalia takes the lead for the first time, with former leader René Rosalia stepping back to the sixth position. 

The Movimentu Desaroyo Duradero Kòrsou (MDDK) list is headed by Marulla Chirino, followed by Sherwin Thielman and Madelyn Geurts. The party highlights diversity with candidates such as Lissette de Freitas Roque and “El Maestro Aris” Ramon Concepcion. Partido Alternativa Real (PAR) once again leans on experienced leaders, with Quincy Girigorie at the top of the list and Ana Maria Pauletta in prominent positions. 

Union i Progreso (UP), led by Elvis de Andrade, has presented a list of 22 candidates, with Narciso ‘Lucho’ Rosales taking the second spot. Partido Nashonal di Pueblo (PNP) is led by Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia, with Sheldry Osepa and Haicheline Rosinda among its key figures. 

In the previous elections in 2021, 17 parties expressed interest in participating, but only 13 met the requirements. Ultimately, five parties secured parliamentary seats. The official registration of lists will take place at the new KSE building, where parties must submit their documents to ensure their participation.
