WILLEMSTAD - New political parties Trabou pa Korsou (TPK), Un Kambio pa Korsou (UKP), Kòrsou un Munisipio Ulandes Nobo (KUMUN), Kòrsou esun Miho (KEM), Partido Nashonal di Pueblo (PNP), Movementu Kousa Promé (MKP), Democratic Party (DP) and Vishon will participate in the elections on March 19 next. These parties have come through the primaries.
Last weekend Curaçao was dominated by the primaries. The sixteen political parties wishing to participate in the March 19 elections each had to gather 789 votes.
The eight parties mentioned have all received more than 789 votes. The PNP party headed by former minister Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia came out with the most votes. Michelangelo Martines' KEM finished in second place. TPK by Rennox Calmes ends in third place.
Of the sixteen parties, thirteen made an attempt for the first time. Three parties have already participated in the primaries, namely PAN, MKP and DP.
With those already represented in parliament, a total of 15 parties will participate in the March elections.
