WILLEMSTAD - Agreements or arrangements with the Financial Supervision Board (Cft) or the Netherlands that are detrimental to the economic growth of Curaçao must at least be discussed. This is according to the Curaçao Business Association (VBC) in a press release.
The VBC believes that Curaçao should do everything it can to allow the economy to grow. The interest group has argued several times that accelerated economic growth can solve most of the country's challenges.
Public finances, our social security system, poverty, unemployment, health care costs are some of the challenges facing the country. "A booming economy helps solve these problems," said the VBC.
The developments brought about by the Russian invasion could not be predicted in advance. Rapidly rising fuel prices and grain tariffs, among other things, have a negative impact on the economy. The VBC believes that the agreements with the Cft and the Netherlands that could adversely affect economic growth or purchasing power, either directly or indirectly, should at least be discussed.
