WILLEMSTAD - The year 2022 is the year when Curaçao should become cleaner and more attractive. Minister of Health, Nature and Environment Dorothy Pietersz-Janga emphasized this during a press conference on Thursday.
To achieve this, the government wants to support a 'bario (neigborhood) challenge' that Curaçao Clean Up is planning to organize. It looks at what the cleanest neighborhood in Curaçao is. In addition, a working group is being set up including Curaçao Clean Up, but also waste management company Selikor, the tourism office, the Uniek Curaçao Foundation and the ministries of Economic Development and Health, Nature and the Environment.
More plans can be expected from this working group in the coming period, according to Minister Pietersz-Janga. She has declared 2022 'Aña di Limpiesa'.
