Main news | By Press release April 10, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - As previously announced, the Public Prosecution Service and the Curaçao Police Corps have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to enforcement of the Covid measures, given the strong increase in the number of covid infections. The Public Prosecution Service wants to make the public aware that there are significant fines if one does not follow the rules promulgated by the government. The police are conducting intensive checks with the aim, within the framework of public order, to minimize the number of people on the street as much as possible and thus reduce the risk of infections.

In the Triangle, the consultation between the Minister of Justice, the police and the Public Prosecution Service, it has been agreed what the sanctions are and how the police will act.

Below are the transaction amounts that are actively monitored by the police in the general interest of public health in Curaçao. Failure to comply with a transaction will in principle lead to prosecution with higher demand in court.
