WILLEMSTAD – TUI has reached a major milestone this year by surpassing 250,000 passengers on its route between Amsterdam and Curaçao. According to the travel company, the record highlights the crucial importance of the air connection for tourism as well as family visits between Curaçao and the Netherlands.
TUI reported that the milestone was marked with a special surprise for a passenger at Hato International Airport, underscoring the significance of the achievement for both travelers and the airline.
In addition to the passenger record, TUI also operated a record number of flights on the Amsterdam–Curaçao route this year. During the Christmas period, the airline flew up to 18 return flights between the two destinations, reflecting strong demand during the peak travel season.
Further expansion is already planned for next year. TUI announced additional flights in the early part of the season and an overall increase to a total frequency of 15 flights per week.
According to the company, this growth fits within a broader strategy to further strengthen connectivity to Curaçao and other Caribbean destinations, reinforcing the island’s position as a key hub for leisure travel and family ties within the Kingdom.
