WILLEMSTAD – The Roman Catholic Central School Board will temporarily adjust its official logo to express pride in Curaçao’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The logo will be adapted to include the ‘Blue Wave’ symbol used by the national football team.

According to director Royla Paula-Pierre, the decision is intended to inspire both students and staff. She said the school board wants to promote a sense of pride surrounding this major sporting achievement for Curaçao. The modified logo will be used for a period of approximately one and a half years.

The school board considers Curaçao’s World Cup qualification to be of significant importance for the island and its wider community. By incorporating the national team’s symbol into its logo, the Rooms Katholiek Centraal Schoolbestuur says it is formally acknowledging the achievement. The education sector, according to the board, has a responsibility to set an example and highlight positive national milestones.

The updated logo will appear on official letterheads used by schools and administrative offices. In addition, the school board plans to give internal attention to the qualification, placing emphasis on values such as perseverance, teamwork, and the development of talent.

It is not yet clear whether students and teachers will be given time off during World Cup matches involving Curaçao. Paula-Pierre indicated that this matter is expected to be discussed later this week. The Minister of Education, Sithree van Heydoorn, has stated that clarity on the issue will be provided in the near future.
