WILLEMSTAD – The Servisio pa Obra Públiko has announced that road maintenance works will begin on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, on a section of Jan Noorduynweg between Brazilweg and Juan Hatoweg.
According to the department, the maintenance activities are expected to last between two and three days and will take place during daytime hours. The works will focus on repairing sections of the road that are in poor condition, as well as restoring a raised pedestrian crossing in the area.
The contractor responsible for carrying out the works is Aliansa.
During the execution of the maintenance activities, Jan Noorduynweg will be closed to through traffic between Juan Hatoweg and Brazilweg. Residents and businesses located within the affected area will remain accessible and can reach their homes or establishments as usual.
For other motorists who normally use this route, alternative routes will be made available. These detours will be clearly indicated by traffic wardens and road signage.
The Ministry of Finance and the Public Works Department apologized for any inconvenience caused and urged all road users to exercise caution while driving in and around the work zone.
