U.S. Military Carries Out Another Deadly Strike on Boat in Eastern Pacific

World news | By Correspondent December 23, 2025

MIAMI – The United States military has carried out another deadly attack on a boat in the eastern Pacific Ocean, resulting in the death of one man. The incident was confirmed by the U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) in a message posted on X.

According to Southcom, the vessel was operating in international waters and was allegedly linked to what the command described as “terrorist organizations.” No evidence was provided to substantiate that claim, and U.S. authorities have not released further details about the identity of the victim or the precise circumstances surrounding the strike.

The attack is part of a broader pattern of U.S. military operations in the region aimed at disrupting drug trafficking routes. In recent months, Southcom has repeatedly reported interceptions and the use of force against vessels suspected of involvement in international drug smuggling networks.

Human rights advocates and observers have raised concerns about the lack of transparency surrounding such operations, particularly when lethal force is used. Questions remain about how targets are identified, what legal frameworks apply in international waters, and how accountability is ensured when civilians may be affected.

The U.S. military has not indicated whether an investigation into the incident will be conducted or whether additional information will be released.
